For over five decades, Little Feat has stood as one of American music’s most distinctive and enduring bands. Formed in 1969 by the late Lowell George, the group built a sound unlike anything else — a joyous, genre-blending gumbo of rock, funk, blues, folk, country, jazz, and New Orleans groove. Rooted in virtuosic musicianship and a deep sense of feel, Little Feat’s music invites listeners not just to listen, but to move.
Across a legendary catalog that includes classics like Dixie Chicken, Willin’, Fat Man in the Bathtub, and the iconic live album Waiting for Columbus, Little Feat earned a reputation as one of the greatest live bands in rock history. Their influence and collaborations span generations, with connections to artists ranging from Bonnie Raitt and Bob Dylan to Emmylou Harris, Jimmy Buffett, and Dave Matthews.
Today’s Little Feat carries that legacy forward with longtime members Bill Payne, Sam Clayton, Kenny Gradney, and Fred Tackett, alongside newer additions Scott Sharrard (guitar/vocals) and Tony Leone (drums). The current lineup brings renewed energy while honoring the deep grooves and musical conversation that have always defined the band.
More than 50 years on, Little Feat remains a band built for the stage — seasoned, soulful, and still overflowing with joy. Their live shows are a celebration of musical history, shared spirit, and the kind of rhythm that keeps audiences dancing long after the last note fades.
